Jeremy Witzens
Jeremy Witzens received his MSc in Mathematics and Physics from the Ecole Polytechnique (Paris, France) and his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology. Previously, he was a senior staff engineer at Luxtera Inc., a start-up commercializing high-speed optical transceivers for datacom markets. There, he worked on silicon photonics devices including passive optical devices, Germanium on Silicon photodetectors and high-speed modulators, as well as on CMOS process integration. He also developed the control system and management interface for Luxtera's transceivers from the ground up and worked on RF systems and circuits. He was also involved in identifying and evaluating new product opportunities. Since Nov. 2009 he joined the Nanophotonics group of the University of Washington as a principal research scientist.
